The Age Defying Benefits of Vivix

The Age Defying Benefits of Vivix

In over 100 years of nutritional innovation, Vivix may be Shaklee’s most impressive nutritional achievement.

That’s an amazing contention when you consider Shaklee created the first multivitamin, the first protein powder, the first natural sustained-release Vitamin C among other nutritional breakthroughs. Plus Shaklee has conducted over 100 clinical studies, published in peer-reviewed medical and scientific journals, showing the effectiveness of their nutritional products.

Vivix in Liquid and Gel CapsHow Vivix Works

Cells are continuously damaged by environmental exposure to UV rays and toxins. Poor diet and a stressful lifestyle can also speed up cellular aging. Even the simple act of eating an unhealthy meal can result in the formation of free radicals. Free radicals can damage cell components like DNA and trigger inflammatory reactions that over time contribute to speeding up the rate your cells age.

To help keep cells vital and strong, Shaklee scientists developed Vivix®.

Vivix is a scientifically advanced proprietary blend based on muscadine grapes–one of nature’s rarest, most potent fruits. Muscadine grapes contain the full complement of polyphenols (powerful antioxidants) found in other grapes.

Unlike other grapes, muscadine boasts superior concentrations of ellagic acid and ellagitannins that, when combined with other polyphenols, and resveratrol yield immense antioxidant power

Shaklee harnesses the muscadine grape power in every bottle of Vivix using a patented extraction process that concentrates and preserves bioactive polyphenols. The result is that Vivix is 13x more powerful than resveratrol alone at slowing a key mechanism of cellular aging.

The Benefits of Vivix

Backed by six patents, the key ingredients in Vivix are clinically shown to:

  • Help Protect and Repair your DNA. DNA damage can trigger inflammatory reactions in healthy people. Damaged DNA is thought to contribute to cellular aging.
  • Help Slow Cellular Aging Naturally by activating genetic regulators.
  • Address Declining Cellular Energy Production. As you age the energy in your cells declines. Vivix promotes mitochondrial biogenesis for greater cellular energy production.
  • Neutralize Free Radicals. Key ingredients shown in laboratory studies to activate cellular defenses and neutralize free radicals.
  • Slow Development of AGE Proteins that may accumulate and lead to cellular aging. (Note: People with Type-2 diabetes show a high level of AGE proteins.)
  • Support healthy vision.
  • Blunt the Inflammatory Response. We now know that inflammation occurs quickly; even when healthy people eat one unhealthy meal. Clinical studies show Vivix immediately blunts the inflammatory response of eating an unhealthy meal.  Less inflammation in the body also results in a wide variety of health benefits including slowing cellular aging.

The Science Behind Vivix

In the video below Shaklee scientists share more about the science behind Vivix.

Vivix and Telomeres

Telomeres - Vivix Study slows their shortening by 40%.

Just as impactful to the aging process are telomeres. Telomeres are molecular protective caps at the end of each strand of DNA that serve to protect the chromosomes. If you imagine your chromosomes as shoelaces, the telomeres are the plastic tips that keep them from fraying.Shaklee Vivix users vs Control Telomere Study

What’s important about telomeres is scientists consider them to be a key marker of your overall health

Between, 50 and 70 billion cells in our body die each day as part of our normal growth or development. To replace these, healthy cells divide themselves. However, this process shortens the telomeres until they are no longer capable of protecting the chromosomes, which leads to cell deterioration that we typically see as aging.

In a major clinical study, people who took Vivix had a 40% lower rate of telomere shortening across all the adult age range compared to a healthy control group of non-smokers! Statistical analysis projects that an 80-year-old Shaklee user would have the same telomere length as a 41-year-old!

Dr. Blackburn on the health of Shaklee population Vivix reference.
Elizabeth Blackburn, Ph.D., received the Nobel Prize in Physiology or Medicine in 2009 alongside two colleagues for their discovery of telomerase and the role of telomeres in the aging process. Blackburn was an elected president of the American Association for Cancer Research and received the Albert Lasker Basic Medical Research Award, among many other awards. In 2007, Time Magazine named her one of the most influential people. Today she is president of the Salk Institute.
